We welcome applications from students of any undergraduate, graduate, or work background with an interest in women’s and gender studies. To apply, please follow the Graduate Center’s general admissions process via the online application. The M.A. Program in Women’s and Gender Studies application requires the following:
1. A letter of intent, summarizing your reasons for applying and why you feel you would be a good fit for the program
2. A writing sample of 10-15 pages that significantly addresses gender
*3. GRE scores
4. Two letters of recommendation from professors or supervisors who know you and your work well
We admit new students each Fall. For consideration in our next incoming class in Fall 2020, the priority deadline for applications is January 15th, 2020. The final deadline has been extended to June 1st, 2020.
Please note: We do not currently offer any grants, fellowships, or scholarships for our MA in Women’s and Gender studies students. Information about tuition at the Graduate Center can be found here.
*Those that have yet to take the GRE or TOEFL exam due to the COVID-19 are encouraged to submit all other application materials. The Program Admissions Committee will review each file and may request additional writing samples or interviews as alternative means of assessing the qualifications typically measured by standardized tests. Applicants that have already taken the exam must submit their scores.
